When did you start your journey as an entrepreneur?

I began my entrepreneurial path about 6 years ago.

What motivated you to want to start your business?

I’ve known from a very young age that doing my ‘own thing’ was my only option. I’ve had so many jobs in the past and although I performed well, I was never truly happy or excited to show up for someone else’s business. I didn’t have exposure or experience with entrepreneurship but by default, I discovered that was my option! I’m a dreamer so I allowed myself to dream up my perfect lifestyle and career, and before I knew it, I had my own business.

Can you briefly describe the outline of your typical day as a successful entrepreneur?

I have an online business and work from home, so I’m very grateful to have plenty of flexibility and variety in my day. While my day-to-day may fluctuate, I do have a few non-negotiables; I wake up and ease in. I hate rushing so I purposely block my mornings off for myself to nourish ME so I can pour into others; I have a tea, make a big healthy breakfast, take my supplements, meditate or write, do at least 15 minutes of personal development and then shift into the productivity part of my day. This can vary, but it typically involves a few coaching calls with clients, content creation for my programs or workshops, checking in and strategizing with my wellness team, hosting online business + lifestyle training… it’s never a dull moment and I love it.

What do you think is the best mindset tool to keep you on task and motivated?

Accountability. I find if I don’t have someone or something to be accountable to, I can drift a bit. I have frequent check-in’s with myself and some of my most trusted female entrepreneurs to ensure I’m on track.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned so far in your business that you wish you would have known in the start?

How to properly set boundaries. It’s so easy to over-help, be available 24/7, and give all your energy to others that you can quickly become depleted. Setting clear boundaries for yourself and your clients is a gamechanger and I advise we all do it asap.

What has been your most difficult hurdle during your entrepreneurial journey?

Knowing what are the most important priorities to focus on and when. I have inspiration and think up ideas at rapid speed. EVERYTHING inspires me and I’ve spent many hours spinning my wheels trying to decide what to act on first. Over time I’ve gotten better but this is still something I struggle with.

What helped you get through it?

Talking it out to coaches and mentors, having regular chats with the Universe and asking for signs, guidance and messages, time blocking to focus on one thing at a time and eliminating the habit of multitasking.

What keeps you going in the difficult times?

My commitment to myself and what I want to create. I am very stubborn (full-blown Scorpio here!), so when I want something, no matter how hard or long it will take, I make a plan and show up for it. I’ve come to realize the difficult times can be seen as obstacles or opportunities, so I lean into the opportunity and see what the underlying message is. I ask myself; How can I see this from a different lens, handle this with grace, and use this lesson as a growing experience? This helps when difficult times arise.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business and why?

Honestly, it’s when I’m able to mentor and guide other women to reach their goals. I’ve always believed in collaboration and it totally lights me up when I can participate in another woman’s success and happiness! I live by the motto; “You will get all you want in life if you help enough people get what they want.” This motto is a win-win for all. It’s a good reminder to be of service first and trusting your acts will be rewarded.

What book or books have made a strong difference in your life and/or business?

I’m actually a book addict and have every business, self-help book you can think of, but I’m most obsessed with The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. It’s a short yet incredibly powerful read to help you unearth your subconscious fears and limiting beliefs, and move past them. I have the hard copy which I read a few times a year, as well as the audio that often plays in my car.

Who are you the most inspired by and how does it impact your business choices?

Being a spiritual teacher and student myself, I absolutely love Gabby Bernstein. She embodies spirituality, authenticity, and badass business skills like nobody else and I’ve learned a ton from her. I also totally admire Sara Blakely for more reasons than I can list, but what I love most is seeing what she’s created from basically nothing. She inspires me like crazy!

What would you want to tell someone who was just starting out, or thinking about starting out a new business?

The advice I held on to so tightly in the beginning stages of my business was this; work harder on yourself than you do on anything else. When you can master your emotions, get clear on who you are and commit to expanding and growing yourself every day, you will succeed. Additionally; I don’t play the comparison game. I stay in my own lane with the blinders on and do what’s best for me. Being clear to your core values and making all decisions based on these values will keep you focused and aligned to your integrity when faced with making decisions.

What is most important to you at this point in your life? Why?

To continue to grow myself. I had hit a milestone in my business that at the time felt nearly impossible to reach, and it’s so easy to become complacent when you do the impossible. I needed to do a lot of personal work to recalibrate my goals and think bigger to take myself to the next level. At this point, I’m working on elevating my vision and goals way beyond what my brain can even comprehend which is interesting! You deal with a lot of emotions, peeling back layers, eliminating false stories of what’s possible or not… this is important for me to work on because I’ve been so committed to showing other women what’s possible for their own lives and in order to do this, I must walk the talk and level-up myself.

What brings you the most joy?

I strive to find joy in the smallest of things, so it’s hard to pick just one area! I’m an ocean-loving girl and I’d have to say my daily soul stroll by the water anchors me, fills me up, and feels absolutely joyful no matter what mood I’m in.

What’s something quirky that most people wouldn’t know about you?

I don’t know if this is ‘quirky’ but I may be a little too excited about watching scary movies. I love being freaked out and many people seem to be surprised by that!
